This 8 month-long Regional Literary Arts Program begins in November, 2025.
High school writers - spend one day a month working with professional VT authors to develop your skills and hone your craft.
Sessions will be run by published VT authors and educators with MFA’s in writing and each month will include direct instruction and writing workshops.
The program will culminate in a digital and professionally printed and bound Literary Magazine of the group’s work along with the work of other youth across the State whose submissions are accepted for publication. As well, youth will have the opportunity to present their work alongside their author mentors at a series of public readings to be held across the region, including a final one to be held at the State House.
Teaching artists include a slate of published, professional VT authors and educators who are excited to bring their expertise, instruction, and mentorship to youth writers including VT Reads author Ken Cadow, award-winning poet Carol Potter, VT’s reigning Slam Poetry Champion Geof Hewitt, local novelist Alex Myers, and speculative fiction writer Shingai Kagunda.
Programming will take place at the Blake Memorial Library in East Corinth.
